Authors
Diane DeBella
As a teacher, speaker and writer, Diane DeBella has spent twenty years examining women writers, women’s history and feminist issues. She currently teaches at the University of Colorado in Boulder and has work published in numerous journals, including California Quarterly, Vermont Literary Review and Montpelier.
She is also the author of the recently published memoir, I Am Subject: Sharing Our Truths to Reclaim Our Selves. She has received the CU Women Who Make a Difference Award and the CU-LEAD Alliance Faculty Appreciation Award. Through her organization I Am Subject, Diane offers workshops and presentations on issues that affect girls and women of all ages and during all life stages, providing a safe space to increase understanding and awareness, as well as develop a stronger system of support and community.

Book Description: As a teacher of writing and Women’s Studies, I have spent many years studying the lives and works of women writers.I AmI Am Subject Book Subject: Sharing our Truths to Reclaim Our Selves is a memoir that combines my own history with the words and experiences of other writers to examine the issues that perplex contemporary women.
This work conveys women’s experiences by weaving together memoir, literary texts and criticism, and student reflection. Simply knowing that others have struggled can bring women out of isolated suffering to a deeper sense of awareness and understanding.
Our early interpersonal relationships, combined with the societal and cultural messages we receive, influence all of our subsequent actions, including our sexual experiences, our intimate relationships, our decision to have children or not have children, our career choices, and our tendency to deal with life’s challenges either constructively or destructively.
I Am Subject provides a safe space for women to increase their awareness regarding where they have come from and where they are going as they move forward into the next stages of their lives.
It is my hope that those who read these words will sit with them, give thought to how they might apply to their own lives and the lives of women they know, and begin their own conversations regarding how to best turn increased awareness into action.

George Ira Carroll
George Ira Carroll is a Certified Access Consciousness Facilitator and Master NLP Practitioner. George facilitates live and online training events all over the world. George spent many of his years chasing his dreams of 
becoming a professional football player, until he shattered his leg and ankle during his senior season, leaving him depressed and hopeless.
After moving to Denver, CO and creating a 6-figure income in corporate sales and management, he was left unfulfilled and he resigned, knowing something greater was possible. He turned to the human potential movement and eventually started his own speaking, training and coaching business. Some of his Training Clients include: Capital One, Monster.com and American Family Insurance.

Kerrie Flanagan
Kerrie Flanagan is the Director of Northern Colorado Writers, an
accomplished freelance writer, writing consultant, instructor and author. Her work appears in six Chicken Soup For The Soul books, The Writer, Writer’s Digest, the 2011 Guide to Literary Agents and in the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Writers Markets.
She is the author of Planes, Trains and Chuck & Eddie and
Write Away: AYear of Musings and Motivations for Writers.
In addition to her own work, she has helped nearly a dozen writers self-publish their work and has guided writers to reach their full potential. She teaches writing classes throughout the year in Colorado and Wyoming and gives talks on self-publishing.
Prior to her writing career, Kerrie was a teacher for 10 years. In 2007, she combined her love for writing and teaching with her passion for helping other writers and started Northern Colorado Writers. Through classes, workshops, meetings and an annual conference, NCW is able to provide its 200+ members and other writers, the tools, encouragement and information needed to find success.
