Program Description:

Facing your fears is the most important thing that allows empowerment to happen. Sometimes it takes multi-level experiences to break through the stuck patterns of fear of failure (and other fears) and low self-esteem that has been a part of women’s lives in our country and in the world.  Is it a man’s world still?  How are we making it our world? For me, climbing this mountain was a peak empowerment event in itself, in my own somatic learning experience of working with my fear in my physical body doing something powerful and challenging. But the extra level of this experience was that I was there helping Five Young African women to also accomplish this goal which for them had a more historically cultural impact on their lives. African women do not get to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro! They are told they can’t do it.  So when they did it, and we were there supporting their effort, we all grew exponentially.

This is what self-empowerment is all about!
